OUR SERVICES
Community Art
At Veemata Mazi, we believe in using the power of creativity to bring people together and walk with them as they own their stories. We provide safe spaces, specifically for refugees and other populations that have experienced trauma, to connect with others, and express themselves creatively through movement, music, and art. This includes art classes, exercise classes, and a variety of other community group options. In conjunction with these groups, people will also have access to individual coaching with our counselor.
Trauma-Informed Training
One of our core missions at Veemata Mazi is to train and equip local and foreign professional workers and volunteers across Athens and Greece (psychologists, therapists, social workers, students of psychology, ministers, ministry volunteers, and NGO workers) with trauma-specific ministry strategies and skills. Our goal is that these workers will be able to provide high quality, trauma-informed, and transformative care in the organizations they currently work.
Pathways Community Center
At our Pathways Center, we desire to create a safe space where practitioners and beneficiaries can come and learn together. We have a resource library with a variety of books designed to help practitioners grow in their understanding of trauma-informed care, second-hand trauma, intersection of faith, and more. We also offer secondary trauma counseling and support for those working with trauma-impacted populations. We host an open and versatile community space where people can come together not only to provide services and receive training, but also to raise awareness across Greece around mental health, particularly in trauma work.
